My bike belonged to Brian’s grandmother.
When I was on the North Myrtle Beach Summer Project, Brian refurbished an old Roadster bike for me as a coming home/birthday present. He re-wrapped the handlebars, added new brakes and tires, and overall spent a lot of time and money fixing it up for me. Unfortunately, when I came back and he surprised me with it, we found that it was much to big for me! I couldn’t even get on the seat.
Then he found his grandmother’s bike. He went through it all over again, and this time, it almost fit me. It’s a little big, but as long as I don’t have to stop on an incline, I’m ok.
We went for a bike ride last night. The sun was setting, and we rode along next to one of the irrigation trenches that go throughout the city. Other than the occasional runner and dog walker, it was just us and the ducks – four of them, two mallards with their wives. It was kind of like a triple date.
